For the first time, a groundbreaking Storytelling Tour in South Africa featuring bestselling American author Umm Zakiyyah!

Umm Zakiyyah was born “Ruby Moore” to American converts to Islam. She is the internationally acclaimed author of more than fifteen books including the bestselling novels If I Should Speak, Muslim Girl, and His Other Wife. Her novels have been used in schools and universities in the USA and internationally. She writes about the interfaith struggles of Muslims and Christians, and the intercultural, spiritual, and moral struggles of Muslims in America. Umm Zakiyyah’s work has earned praise from writers, professors, and filmmakers and has been translated into multiple languages.

Dr. Robert D. Crane, advisor to former U.S. President Nixon, said of Umm Zakiyyah, “…no amount of training can bring a person without superb, natural talent to captivate the reader as she does and exert a permanent intellectual and emotional impact.”

Professor K. Bryant of Howard University said of her book If I Should Speak, “The novel belongs to…a genre worthy of scholarly study.”

Umm Zakiyyah holds a B.A. in elementary education and an M.A. in English language learning. Her latest novel His Other Wife is now a short film.

Now for the first time ever, her bestselling books are being published in South Africa! To kick off this special release, Baitul Hikmah is hosting an Umm Zakiyyah Storytelling Tour, with special guests Zain Bhikha, Rashid Bhikha, and American artist Khalil Ismail.
